The Terence Bay Community Hall Association (TBCHA) is the non-profit organization, certified in 2013, that owns and operates the Terence Bay Community Hall. The Terence Bay Community Hall is entirely volunteer run. Volunteers perform physical labour, required inspections, program and events planning, future planning, financial management and reporting, event hosting, and liaise with contractors, renters and event volunteer teams. The TBCHA operates and maintains the Hall to provide recreational, fitness, leisure and social opportunities.

The Terence Bay Community Hall Association is committed to maintain, operate and support an accessible community space that serves the needs and interests of Terence Bay, Lower Prospect and neighbouring communities, while promoting volunteerism and local culture.
History
The Terence Bay Community Hall Association (TBCHA) was established in 2013 by members of the Ladies Auxiliary upon closure of Fire Station 53 located at 80 Sandy Cove Road in Terence Bay and the transfer of the property to HRM. The objective of this volunteer group was “to operate and maintain a central meeting place for the use of the communities of Terence Bay and Lower Prospect for various functions” in partnership with HRM. On October 30, 2018 our community packed a public hearing about the future of the Hall and 15 people testified to support community ownership. That night, Council voted to sell us the building for $1. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor, along with our Councillor and Member of the Legislative Assembly, joined 92 of us at the Hall for a celebration event on November 25, 2018 and the building was officially transferred into our hands on January 29, 2019.
